NW_PILOT - 13 May 2006 05:11 GMT Ok, the ferry business starting to pick up and Uncle Sam just gave a local flight school a gift of $5k in my name to be used toward my CFI now how do I find the time ??????. These Coast to Coast flights are fun and I am packing on the hours. I Just finished up a trip ferrying a 172SP From ONP to DXR then a Skipper from DXR to ONP in 9 days about 70 hour's. I am beat and have to rest up as I have two maybe three more cost to cost flights by the end of the month. Well off to bed I go need some rest, See Ya!!!!

St Paul is the largest suburb of Minneapolis! :-) I vent to collich at the Uvinersity of Minnesota and learnt to fly an aeroplane with the University flying club at Anoka County Airport in the early fifties. Bob Staloch was the boss man with the airplanes ( tricycle gear J-3 Cubs that rented for $3 an hour, wet ). The C-45 time was a bit harder to come by.

11 Pics are from last Sunday. Jay Honeck and his family and Jim Burns and his family flew into ANE for Sunday Brunch and a look around at Golden Wings Museum.
Golden Wings Museum is the new (200' x 200') hangar attached to the big (sturdy) Quonset hut. The museum office is the former University of Minnesota Flight Training Administration(?) Building. It was brought over from the old U of M field in the 50's(???).
The U of M ran their flight program out of ANE, after they left the school owned airfield - again, sometime in the early 50's. For a while, in the early 50's, both airports were open. (They were 1 mile apart from each other). Highflyer was probably one of the first classes of U students over at Anoka County-Blaine.
There's a guy who helps us at ANE who flew at the U of M field in 46, as a student. J-3 Cub. I'll have to ask him what he paid next time I see him. It was only a couple of bucks - which he said sounds great, unless you didn't have it! :-)

My newsgroup reader only shows yours and Mont's thread and not the original, but I felt *compelled* <w> to chime in here (Cecil's brain is fuzzy from too much study methinks.... <g>)
I think ONP DXR is quite clear... Doesn't Santa say something like "ONP DXR, on Prancer and Vixen"? See, no one can say that *I* haven't been thorough in my aviation preparation - and yes I do know how to perform weight and balance calculations on a reindeer and sleigh.... In fact, I can't wait for that question to come up in my CFI Oral exam; after all how many can say they have calculated out the coefficient of drag on a magic reindeer moving through the air at several thousand knots. Few, I'll tell you,,, very few! <LOL> ;0)

Good luck on the CFI Oral exam.
Montblack [Old joke from the web WARNING] Santa getting his BFR: FAA guy watches while Santa does his preflight, checking the Reindeer, the Sleigh, going over Santa's insane weight-and-balance calculations. Then FAA guy climbs in carrying a shotgun. Santa asks why the gun? FAA guy says, not supposed to tell you beforehand, but you're gonna lose an engine on takeoff.
gatt - 15 May 2006 23:05 GMT Excellent! How'd you get involved in ferry piloting?
