If you truly want a 103 legal ultralight light. Really there is very few
options that meet those requirements anymore.
I think that if you put anything but the 28hp and bare bones everything you
will not be under 254lbs with the flitplane.
You may want to concider the B1RD.

Thanks for the reply. Not a bad plane. I would like to build it
however and it doesn't look like this plane is being produced anymore (or
for quite a while).
The Flitplane looks pretty bare bones to begin with. I don't know
what I would want to add except a few gages. A little more power would be
nice. I like Hirth engines, would be nice if they had something in
between the 28 and 40 hp engines. Would like to talk to someone who has
built/flown one.

I built one a few years ago and have it flying. ULWA is right on, 254lbs is
very difficult to achieve with more than a 277. I have a 440 Kawaski on mine
and, well, its close! Photos can be found at
