I ate the last baguette today20 Nov 2008 17:37 GMT4
I ate the last baguette today. It was like sharpened tool steel after 48 hours. The microwave
softened it a bit, but not before I cut my knuckle on the razor-sharp adamantine crust of the bread
while preparing it. It still tasted a bit stale after I heated it, but at least I ...

How does a person determine what the proper height of an engine should
be when building an airplane? If a particular engine design mandates
the prop is 4 inches, say, lower than where it would be with the
engine originally installed, what effect will it have on handling, and

Following inspection of budget, it seems too expensive;

4-blade Pawnee Performance?20 Nov 2008 20:05 GMT9
Can anyone out there with experience behind both 2-bladed and 4-bladed

My club has debated this off and on, but I was recently at a field
with a 4-bladed Pawnee and was much impressed with the lower noise.

Anyone familiar with this U/L?
After 25 years of flying and owning conventional A/C, I came into possession
of this aircraft.  I've never flown an U/L before.  It is sitting in storage
until I find out a bit about this type.  It looks like it may be fun.

I confess. I'm a rotor winged whore. In spite of the degredation of
this board and the slipping of standards, I keep hoping for things to

Damn that just made me laugh. Maybe I am good for something after all?

Flying the High Atlas Mountains14 Nov 2008 13:16 GMT2
I have managed to get 50% working this winter which means I can take a week
or two to make a trip this year. I fancy going from the UK down to Morocco
and across the Atlas Mountains to, say Tunisia, then back home.
Anyone done this or got any tips before I start planning?
