Took the Mooney for a blast down to Jindabine (jeez that strip is rough in a Mooney - had not been repaired since the bush fires last year) to the Thredbo Blues Festival. Went full IFR out of YSBK due to cloud at 900' to 8000' +... came back on a brilliant blue day, after overflying ...

I'm flying an Arrow from BK to Merriden for a mate in June but I've not been much west of Coober Pedy thus far. Do any of you guys over there that have done the trip before have any advice? I think Steath may have written something in a previous post but I can't find it.

From reading the various threads regarding the new NAS, I'd like to ask. Would it help if all aircraft had to have functioning and operating transponders whenever they are in flight? Make it an airworthiness requirement, perhaps?
