Qantas says it will lay-off 200 staff because they have failed to renew the Ground Handling Contract with Singapore Airlines. Unions say its more like 400 staff at BNE-SYD-MEL. Anyone know which jobs are affected, is it Baggage Handling, or Check-in

Perhaps popping is all I can think of to describe this for the moment. I am familiar with the occasional bang out of the exhaust when throttling down in some aircraft, but on the weekend I was surprised to hear an aircarft emit a sustained series of exhaust bangs at a rate of one ...
