Saw a Jetstar A320 take off on RWY 34 from foxtrot intersection- on handing to departures the tower commented that they "didn't use much runway". Given that all jets I've ever seen off 34 use Juliet or Kilo, why would they do this?

Don't know anything about the getting a Mirage, but they did announce that they have acquired another Spitfire. The aircraft in question is TB863 which is currently in New Zealand. It will be nice to get the chance to see a couple of them in formation out
