Saw a Jetstar A320 take off on RWY 34 from foxtrot intersection- on handing
to departures the tower commented that they "didn't use much runway". Given
that all jets I've ever seen off 34 use Juliet or Kilo, why would they do
this?

Around mid morning Wednesday 19th April '06, I saw two 737's (Qantas and
VirginBlue respectively) land on Adelaide's cross runway - namely rwy 12.
This is quite a rarity as rwy 05/23 is almost exclusively used for
'heavy's'. Looking at the wind sock there was a stiff crosswind ...

which is currently in New Zealand.
