Out of interest, having just read Knobdoodle tell yet another
aus.aviation regular how to post, I googled him and said group.
He's made 16 posts, of which just three were somehow aviation related.
Perhaps 'Fark; "big twin" has a slightly different connotation here

Want to clear up and argument with a mate..
Does the Qantas MEL-HEATHROW flight fly direct no stops to the UK ??
Or does it land and refuel without passengers disembarking the aircraft,
claiming to be direct ??

Ive noticed on some 737's on final to Adelaide airport that they have
strange flashing lights on either the inner wing or fuselarge area. One
each side, and they alternate about 2-3 times a second. They are not

In response to the crash of a regional jet here in the US a talking head on
fox news when talking about the possibility that it took off on the wrong
(insufficient length) runway had this to say....
"Runway 26 is not suitable for anything except single wheel nose cone

Would have they reached V1, or would  they have they realized sh.t wheres
the runway gone, and attempted to climb, or shouldn't they have just ran off
the end, and through the paddock and finally come to a stop ?

SWMBO and I were returning from AKL direct to PER recently, and the AirNZ plane
was overbooked by four.  In the dep lounge the staff announced (several times,
unsuccessfully) for volunteers to stay overnight at NZ's expense - accom, meals
plus $NZ300 p/p in compensation - and get ...

How does an experienced crew get the wrong runway, I would guess they have
flown out of that airport many times.

Just back from a trip to the US. What really anoyed me on this trip (and
also on a previous one) was the following.
Just after take-off out of Sydney, the captain makes an announcement in
words to the effect that "it is a requirement by the US federal authorities

I thought I might share my current concerns of flying as I must admit
my confidence has been shaken a bit (not too much though) and wanted to
hear from what other people think.

Then again, two aircraft doing instrument approaches in the opposite
direction in cloud, and one being forced to leave the missed approach

We are interested to hear from anyone qualified to be approved as CFI or
already being approved as CFI interested to work in the Sydney Basin. Needs
to be culturally sensitive since we train mainly overseas students in full
