P-791 hybrid airship project09 Sep 2008 09:49 GMT2
Anyone else here familiar with this project?
The video is worth watching- looks like a cumbersome throwback to a
bygone era- with a couple of modifications to try to make it
practical- such as the "suction cups" for parking it.
The NIMBY Syndrome Continues - Essendon Airport08 Sep 2008 07:40 GMT1
http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,21985,24272250-2862,00.html
I wonder how many of these people have been here since before the airport
commenced operations? And how many moved there knowing that an airport is
nearby. In particular how many people moved there since 1978 when ...

Advise on PPL training07 Sep 2008 17:31 GMT14
I've been thinking about getting my PPL within a short time frame.
Say 3 months.  How many lessons per week would I require to get it completed within that time frame?   I can take mornings off from work to go down to moorabbin then drive into work.
Any advice on this would be ...

The Amberley Air Show website suggests that a B-52 might make an appearance.
Does anyone know yet what day it might show? Both days perhaps?

PPL in America07 Sep 2008 04:00 GMT13
Within my previous thread "Advise on PPL Training" someone suggested flight training in the states.
This has raised my curiosity some what, since I've always wanted to travel to Florida to see a large Rocket launch down at the cape.
I would love to do a full time course overseas, ...
aero GP06 Sep 2008 13:12 GMT1
I saw something on 60 minutes a while back about this Aero GP thing, what
exactly is it and how it is different from the red bull air race thing?
RTO videos06 Sep 2008 06:26 GMT2
While searching for the source of some personal misinformation that
JB enlighted me about, I found two video clips of rejected takeoff
tests. One's the 777's, the second the A340.
The first one appears to be from a US Public Broadcasting System show
FAs Flying the Ship???06 Sep 2008 06:15 GMT6
From the latest Crikey Daily, author of this article, Ben Sandilands, erstwhile
airline reporter and critic.
The original article has two photos, one of an FA sitting in the captain's seat,
then another of the FO doing the same.

V Australia - GREAT prices04 Sep 2008 19:46 GMT24
I've just booked tickets on the V Australia web site for travel from
Sydney to LA in March and there are limited tickets available for $580 - I
couldn't believe it! No wonder Qantas are so anxious to get the 777.
That's cheaper than visiting the fam in Perth. The best deal I could ...
V Australia using 777 to US?!04 Sep 2008 19:46 GMT30
I've noticed that V Australia are using a 777 on their Sydney to LA route.
Is this such a good idea?  I mean, the 777 only has 2 engines, so if
something were to happen to one of them, would the plane be able to fly with
just the 1 engine?  Would you really want to risk it on a ...
