| Why are there no small turboprops? | 08 Jun 2004 14:57 GMT | 59 |
I have always wondered why there are no small GA turboprops. It seems like most of the major problems & maintenance issues associated with GA aircraft are related to the piston motor, and as far as I can tell, turboprops are much more reliable, fuel efficient, smoother running and ...

| Anyone got an FCC radio license | 08 Jun 2004 06:42 GMT | 33 |
Has anyone here bothered to get the FCC radio license? I've been going down to Mexico for awhile and have never heard of anyone down there ever being asked for one (the officials in Mexico don't even know what it is).

| First non-pilot passenger | 08 Jun 2004 03:21 GMT | 28 |
Took up my first non-pilot passenger today. I've had my private certificate for almost 3 years now, but never had anyone else in the aircraft that wasn't a pilot/instructor, etc. My wife will not fly with me, but I'm still hopeful that that day will be sooner rather than later. ...

| pilots that lost medicals are you on the LSA group? | 06 Jun 2004 20:27 GMT | 14 |
Just a note for any of the thousands of pilots out there that can't fly because they don't have a medical. If you are one or know someone then have them join the Sport-Aircraft group. Have a good day and stay out of the trees!

| warrior stall speeds (VSO) | 06 Jun 2004 17:24 GMT | 7 |
Some references list the VSO (40° flaps) for a PA28-161 at 44Kt, others list it at 33Kt.That's a pretty big difference. The POH for the one I'm flying says 33Kt. I have a hard time trusting this - Anyone here regularly land their Warrior at 40 KT (1.2VSO)?
