I found some cool photos of a retired 747-200 used in the new Bond film Casino Royale. Interesting how they podded the engines and added wing tanks and exhaust chevrons. Those Hollywood guys never cease to amaze.. http://www.flightglobal.com

| Part 121 Regulations Question | 31 Aug 2006 06:56 GMT | 27 |
I'm a PPL-ASEL-IA and familiar with Part 91 of course. I'm also a frequent flier (a 1K in fact....100k plus miles per year). I often hear flight attendants (FA's), TSA, etc. saying "oh you can't do that. it's against the security regulations since 9/11." Many times I think or ...

| Crashing on takeoff... how odd | 31 Aug 2006 04:30 GMT | 168 |
I remember a recent discussion with a pilot mate where I was mentioning how illogical a crash-shortly-after-takeoff is, given that beyond V1 takeoff can safely be continued even with just one good engine. I'd even told him that if I saw an aircraft airborne following takeoff, I'd

| Fun canyon flying | 31 Aug 2006 03:10 GMT | 28 |
After 2 years without touching the controls of a seaplane I had the pleasure of grabbbing a CFI and going out and getting my phase 1 sea wings. Boy, what a blast. We went up to the foothills and did some canyon flying. Its amazing that flying 10 feet over the water at 60 mph

For the past several months, I have had very slow response from Airnav.com, and sometimes no response at all. Right now I am getting 'cannot find website'. Anyone else experiencing this? It has been so unreliable that I am ready to switch if there is another one like it.

| Red Bull Air Races.. | 30 Aug 2006 14:32 GMT | 10 |
Anyone ever been to the Red Bull air races? They look interesting. There is one in San Francisco in October, but I have heard that the non-US ones are the best because of more lax regulations (i.e. flying under bridges, etc.) Anyone have any info?

| Flying to Teterboro | 30 Aug 2006 12:55 GMT | 20 |
I'd appreciate some guidance from the New York area folks on flying in to Teterboro. I have to fly there for the first time next week. My typical flying is in a much more relaxed envirronment than this and I don't want to create any problems for myself or ATC.
