American Flight 191 - Recovery Procedure05 Nov 2006 03:35 GMT18
Last night I watched a fascinating documentary on the History Channel,
titled (I think) "Flight 191". This is the American Airlines DC-10 crash on
March 25, 1979, in which 270+ were killed, after the No. 1 engine blew off
its wing. (I was only eleven when this happened.)
Lipitor and third class medical05 Nov 2006 01:02 GMT3
My third class medical is coming up soon and I am a little worried.
My doctor put me on Lipitor for elevated cholestrol this past year.
Will this cause any red flags, problems or require further documentation
for my third class medical?
What's up with Google???05 Nov 2006 01:08 GMT65
3-4 times in the last week I've posted replies only to get the Oops!
message and that the page is unavailable (reply got wiped out). This
after a masterfully crafted & often witty response on my part which the
group was denied <tongue-in-cheek mode off>  Seriously, is anyone else
New engine04 Nov 2006 21:43 GMT7
Well the decision is made.  I am replacing my engine (O360) with a
Lycoming factory reman.  I have a few questions for the group.  What is
the feeling about the new roller cam?  They offer roller or regular for
the same $$.  Any comments pro or con?  The engine comes stock with

the New Tiger ...04 Nov 2006 19:38 GMT2
Since I started working on  my ticket, and now my instrument, I have been in
love with the new Tigers from day one of my training. I can think about
buying a plane now, and I'm disappointed that the New Tiger outfit tanked.

What ever happened to alka-seltzer in mogas?04 Nov 2006 16:54 GMT4
Anyone has done the test of dropping the alka seltzer into mogas known
to have ethanol?  Did it fizz?
I can definitely say that alka-seltzer does not fizz in ethanol free
regular gasoline.  Just tested it today and Jay did that a few days
Comparison between Cirrus SR20/22 and Columbia(Lancair) 350/40004 Nov 2006 07:20 GMT20

I really need a good advice:
Beetween Cirrus SR20/22 and Columbia(Lancair) 350/400, which is the
best choice? And, of course, for what reason?
Prices at Scottsdale..04 Nov 2006 06:19 GMT7
Does anyone know if there is an FBO at SDL that does not charge the $50
ramp fee!  This is getting crazy.  They must be trying to scare off the
piston crowd.

some very low and fast passes. I'm about where normal traffic

Flags of Our Fathers03 Nov 2006 16:52 GMT11
Saw the new Clint Eastwood-directed take on the famous flag-raising at
Iwo Jima with friends this evening, and enjoyed it immensely.  The
battle scenes are pretty intense, and it's not the kind of movie you
see if you want a feel-good experience -- but it certainly made me
