All I wanted to do is try to fly on a 747!!!31 Jan 2008 18:10 GMT69
All I wanted to try to do is attempt to find a flight aboard a 747 without
going to far to do so.  I really didn't realize it would be such a battle to
go through to find one.  Wow!!  Ultimately a posting by a James Robinson
ended my search and HOPEFULLY will end the battles that ...
Max Service ceiling for commercial airplanes31 Jan 2008 09:03 GMT65
Out of curiosity I was wondering which civilian passenger airplanes
have the highest service ceilings? Wikipedia indicates that some
business jets have ceilings greater than 53000 ft or so while the 747
has only 43000 ft. Also why do large aircraft fly much lower than

Thanks.
Just curious: Water landing question30 Jan 2008 22:12 GMT20
What kind of space does it take to land/takeoff in a plane with
floats?  I realize there are all sorts of rules about where one can do
this but I have a relative with a ranch that has a fairly decent sized
body of water on it.  This is Texas, so its pretty flat with neglible
i think I flew into class c airspace accidentally without     establishing communication30 Jan 2008 19:42 GMT170
tonight I went for a night flight with a buddy.  We had a great trip
there, but on the way back he started fooling around with the GPS and
somehow I missed what he did.  He changed our course to go straight
east instead of southeast.  By the time I realized this, we were way
SouthWings30 Jan 2008 19:34 GMT13
I'm taking some conservationists up tomorrow for SouthWings to document
polluters and illegal loggers around the southern MS-LA border.  Last year we
managed to convince Wal-Mart and Home Depot that the cypress mulch they were
selling came from illegal loggers and millers and ...

Q: C-152 spin characteristics29 Jan 2008 22:22 GMT30
Getting ready to do spins for CFI training, which means not only do I get to
perform them, I have to delivery a ground lesson on them first as well, so
I'm gathering all the data I can find.
Information I have says that in a developed spin most light airplanes make a

I don't know if this guy's ideas would work, but it's a shame he
hasn't had a chance to really try them out...

No mention of the NTSB report.  My suspicion is that the "pilot"
failed to gain sufficient airspeed to maintain flight.  :-)

The Way to Paradise29 Jan 2008 09:21 GMT1
We are all in quest of true happiness.  In this world, the idea of
true/perfect happiness is not feasible because this world is
inevitably doomed to total annihilation.  True happiness is found only
in dwelling upon Paradise, and enjoying its blessings.  However, none
Electra L-1029 Jan 2008 09:16 GMT1
Any of you guys ever get to fly a Lockheed Electra L-10?
What was it like?
For some reason I think that is one of the coolest looking civilian
(at first) planes I've ever laid eyes on. Looking into it, I see K.
