After 65 hours of which 16 solo, I took my checkride today. The day did not
start of great though. I walked out to my car this morning to drive to the
airport and try to be there by 8 am. It is a 30 minute drive to the airport.
I unfortunately could not make 8 am because I had a ...

But why the letter N. Why not B or Q or what ever
Centered ball = no spin?28 Apr 2006 21:53 GMT27

I'm doing a climbing right turn in preparation for practicing a power on
stall.  To center the ball I need to apply right rudder (because of the
P-factor) but to maintain the bank I need to maintain left aileron,
left handed student28 Apr 2006 18:29 GMT49
Looks like I'm picking up a left handed student.  He's several hours
into his private and rather frustrated with his need to take his hand
off the stick to write something down.  Since we are at a Class B
airport, he needs to do this fairly regularly.

Hello, and here we go, again.  :-)27 Apr 2006 18:30 GMT7
Since I have started my flight training, my instructor has pointed me to all
kinds of on-line resources, whether it various NOAA Sites, DUATS,
www.flyagogo.net, or what ever.  I had fallen out of the habit of reading
USENet Newsgroups over the last few years, and figured I would ...

Shy and Bashful and others, I wonder what it would take to get to get
them together for a weekend flyin somewhere in the middle of the country

high-wing to low wing transisiton26 Apr 2006 00:20 GMT24
Folks,
At the risk of starting a high-wing vs. low-wing thread (but hoping to
avoid it), I have a question: What are the noticable differences
between flying a high wing and low wing airplane? (Other than

CAP25 Apr 2006 04:59 GMT3
I have been out of the Air Force for ~9 years, and I am thinking about
joining CAP. I am currently working toward my private license and would like
to eventually get my multi. Is joining CAP a good way to rack up some hours?
Watching the President fly into town?23 Apr 2006 03:59 GMT13
I thought it would be fun to sit in the viewing area near the
airport and listen to the approach control and tower frequencies
while the President's airplane came in and landed.
Is it possible to find out where and when he's landing, or is
My longest XC learning experiences (long)22 Apr 2006 20:39 GMT30
Did my longest XC to date this past week.  While all my flight prep paid
off, one must be flexible on the planning part.
I went from MBO (Madison MS) to DMW (Westminster MD) for a total of 766
miles as the crow flies.  My flight plan wasn't that short as I had planned
