Can people who own or have studied the Lowrance AirMap 600C
please share your thoughts on its pros and cons ?
I'm attracted to its color coded terrain map feature and its
cost of $500.

Although I managed to get through my class 1 medical earlier in the year, I
am really struggling to read lately and it came to a head the other night
when i couldnt read a street directory at night with the car light.  I have
booked in to have my eyes tested and I know i am going to ...

I was wondering if someone could briefly explain what information
should be in a captains briefing. How does this differ from a passenger
briefing (seat belts, emergency landing, smoking)? I searched through
some older posts, but didn't find much info on a captains briefing. I

I've only been a CFI for a couple of weeks or so and I already have 50 +
hours logged flight time as a CFI.  I now understand how the younguns that
are heading for the airlines can build their time so quickly! :0)
I'm just having a ball!  I will be soloing my first Primary student ...

Well, after taking a nearly year long break in my training for various
reasons, I finally soloed! A priceless moment no doubt, but I've got to
say it's even sweeter doing it in the plane that you've worked on,
sweated in, and own.

While walking into my second flight school to check out their
instructors, I was struck by the fact that I've wanted to fly for a
long time, but what was I going to DO with a pilot's license once I got
it?  Just fly around?  Where would I go?  Use it to visit friends?

Today was a perfect IFR morning in North Georgia. Broken at 500', overcast
at 1000' to 2000', tops at about 4000' to 5000'. No thunderstorms yet, but
forecast for this afternoon. I was flying solo and had it in mind to fly to
Greenville, SC (GYH) if the ceilings were higher in order ...

Our club 172SP is down right now for an annual inspection AND an engine
overhaul.  The completion is apparently in flux due to the need to have the
engine's crankshaft inspected.
