| PDF of actual checklists | 29 Sep 2006 22:35 GMT | 19 |
I managed to dig up an actual scanned copy of a Cessna 172S checklist from a website a few months back. Now, I'd like to find one for a C150. Anyone know where something like this might exist?

IFR alternate airport weather minimums 91.169(c)(i) "...or if none are specified the following standard approach minima:" I don't get it. What approach doesn't specify minimums?

| What part of the PPL training is this? | 29 Sep 2006 15:46 GMT | 11 |
Doctors practice for surgery in space by operating on someone in a free-falling plane "in parabolic flight." http://www.guardian.co.uk/science/story/0,,1882600,00.html I assume the airplane is going straight down for 22 seconds, then

| Expired medical, Safety pilot, 91.109 | 29 Sep 2006 15:35 GMT | 11 |
Can a pilot who has allowed their medical to expire perform as a safety pilot? It would be understood prior to the flight that the non-instrument rated pilot flying under the hood would be PIC. The flight would be VFR

| Two thumbs up for the AOPA Medical Certification Department! | 29 Sep 2006 01:22 GMT | 3 |
Having just completed my first medical, I've got to hand it to the AOPA for setting up a great service both on the website and on the phone. I had to contact one of their Medical Certification Technicians for some clarification and I was impressed with their knowledge and ...

I talked with two pilots (owner) coming back in a Diamond DA-40, who offered me to take a look at the interior of the plane. The plane looks pretty inside

| Alabama Air Crash | 26 Sep 2006 16:26 GMT | 6 |
I know we should wait for the accident report, but it sounds like the plane stalled at low altitude, giving the pilot no room to maneuver out of the stall. Does that sound about right? http://www.timesdaily.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060924/APN/609242239&cach etime=5

| Going to AOPA Expo 2004 | 25 Sep 2006 15:37 GMT | 3 |
Always look forward to this (though I've been told that I really must go to Airventure/Oshkosh one year - apparently anything else pales by comparison) Expo, as I usually do. This will be the first time that I won't see the King's single presentation,

| What is a "Tannis Heater?" | 25 Sep 2006 13:25 GMT | 4 |
Am I correct in assuming that this is a device for pre heating the oil in cold climates? Does it affect useful load or horsepower in the way that air conditioning does for a four place plane like a Skyhawk or Cherokee?

| Periodicals for [school] libraries | 25 Sep 2006 01:21 GMT | 8 |
I had an idea this morning that seems pretty simple, but that might help encourage people to join our august ranks: subscribe to some "we suck you into aviation" periodicals on behalf of school libraries. I came late to aviation, and was brought in by a flight with a friend that
