Private plane for BFR ?31 Aug 2007 00:18 GMT4
I guess it is considered a good idea to use one's own plane
for a BFR, since you're familiar with it, and want to scrub
out any bad habits that one has developed using it. But I'm
wondering about the legality.

Where can I find VFR Reporting Points?27 Aug 2007 10:25 GMT52
I have been trying to find an official source listing Lat/Lon for 'VFR
Reporting Points', specifically for Hawaii. I can see the flags on the
sectional but cannot locate the exact points for inclusion in my
flight planning program.
Cessna CBI or Jeppesen25 Aug 2007 22:49 GMT9
I have been a lurker on this newsgroup for a while now.  I am starting
ground school in a few days and  flying lessons next month.  I have
used all the posts on this newsgroup as an invaluable resource to get
started and make decisions concerning how to go about everything.  So

Why don't people use their IFR training?21 Aug 2007 18:01 GMT19
(My info: brand new student pilot, haven't soloed yet.)
In another thread entitled "When asked about Instrument training what
do you tell students?" I see multiple mentions of people getting their
IFR ticket but not using it and so they get rusty.

Attracting new pilots into GA18 Aug 2007 21:52 GMT60
Jay posed the question about how best to attract young people into
aviation, which is a very pertinent question if GA is to survive. As all
of us who make up the GA community get older and retire from GA, if
there isn't a cadre of new blood out here to replace us, the outlook for ...
Airplanes and Horses15 Aug 2007 05:49 GMT7
In my last flying lesson, I actually managed to make a pretty decent
landing.  With my instructor's help, I have been trying to work at not
flying the airplane so much on approach.  I have a tendency to
overcontrol (imagine that), especially on my use of the rudder
2 question.  Can ex-convicts learn to fly?  Can they be pilots?15 Aug 2007 05:20 GMT26
Someone I know was saying that he knows for a fact that an ex-convict
cannot attend any type of flight school.  That didn't sound right to me.
I would think that *anyone* could attend flight school or some form of
flight training.  To further that thought, I figured if and when ...

When they refer to supplemental oxygen at cabin pressure altitudes, are
they referring to the indication on the altimeter in an unpressurized
aircraft or do they mean the calculated pressure altitude?
