Transmit/Receive on a VOR?29 Nov 2007 05:31 GMT13
I confess to being fuzzy on the other uses for a VOR.

frequency of 116.8.
The three frequencies across the top are 122.1R  122.6  123.6.
Good universities for aviation?27 Nov 2007 08:41 GMT6

2) Whether it is or isn't, what universities do you recommend?
3) What criteria would you use to judge a university for aviation?

THE SCAM CALLED DIVERSITY27 Nov 2007 03:29 GMT1

the heart of racism.
Remembering Vx Vy26 Nov 2007 05:13 GMT9
The TOMATO FLAMES thread reminded me of my
memory key for Vx and Vy, which I could not

Landing on a private airfield26 Nov 2007 04:23 GMT26
I was doing engine out practice today when I noticed a nice little airfield
easily within range so I headed that way.    Checking the sectional, there
were two airfields right next to each other in the area I was in, one
private and one not.  I  had no idea which airfield it was and ...
Pattern Contention26 Nov 2007 04:12 GMT13
I was out at the field (non-towered) practicing
forward-slips to a landing.  I had been checked
out by my instructor on this and we had done some
extreme (by my comfort level) slips from downwind
Preventing Your GPS Kit From Being Stolen25 Nov 2007 20:29 GMT5
Satellite navigation kits also known as GPS units are now so popular
that they are now seen as must-have gadgets. This has led to an
increase in thefts and car break-ins as these units are attractive to
thieves...

I wanted to continue this discussion away from the thread that
generated it due to the rather bad direction the thread was heading.

Right at 14 hours on the mark, my instructor stepped out, and I was on
