I have been taught to apply PPP when leveling off about 50' before my
cruise altitude.  Often times I have trouble maintaining altitude,
which I think is a result of focusing too much inside the cockpit
rather than outside the cockpit.

This past Tuesday, I had a very *interesting* encounter at a
