Inadvertant IMC31 May 2008 19:42 GMT17
As a kind of "heads UP" for students, and more for you CFI's, getting
into inadvertant IMC is scary sh.t for students or the ill prepared
but it happens every year. How do you deal with it. Of course avoiding
it is the best option, but we're talking about inadvertant.

EYES THAT SEE29 May 2008 06:22 GMT5
Rec.Aviation.student
It is going on two years since I last wrote you.  I have had near blinding
cataracts for over a year.  I have conpleted half of my surgery and can see
well with my right eye.  I must wait to have my left eye done.  In the
IFR Flight in SoCal - TEC Routes28 May 2008 12:33 GMT5
I've just recently completed my Instrument Rating, and now trying to find
different ways to use it in a practical sense.
During my training, I've only flown TEC routes around SoCal.  But my
business frequently takes me to Bakersfield (Which does not have a TEC
ADIZ Floors?28 May 2008 01:45 GMT2
Are the floors of the ADIZ along the coastal waters starting at 1200,
for example, on the SF Sectional.
Also, beyond the ADIZ past 12 mi, how is the airspace defined there?
Is it class G at sfc to 1200 MSL then E to FL180?
It's mating season23 May 2008 22:28 GMT10
Please explain to me how one plane can land on top of another plane?  (it's
all over the news today in case you missed it).  From miles out, I'm looking
at the runway (and other stuff) and I'm watching it all the way down.  I
assume we all do, so how on earth does a Warrior land ...
Airspace Question - Class E23 May 2008 21:55 GMT6
On my Nav chart (SFran.) at the bottom right edge and upward there is
blue line that fades from sharp to fading to the left.  This line says
that class E airspace starts at 1200 AGL and upward...then as you move
a little bit to the left you run into another line which is blue but
Landing Anywhere...23 May 2008 18:34 GMT7
Stupid newbie question: I've seen the classic picture of the airplane on
Route 66, at a motel in the background.  Question I have is this: If I'm
flying a helicopter that runs mogas, and I wanted to refuel at a gas
station, by law, can I?
Class "G" Airspace22 May 2008 04:33 GMT1
Any class G airspace between Georgetown DE and Rehoboth Beach DE? (I
lack charts at this time)
Looking to fly ultralights initially.  Later, maybe, get a helicopter or
a nice Ercoupe..  Would like something larger, but with budgets and fuel...
Must be nice20 May 2008 16:35 GMT2
The owner of a construction company I know decided that it would be
worth his while to be able to fly himself to visit job sites.  After
trying out a few planes and discussing mission needs with a couple of
people he bought a 2004 Bonanza in which he will be learning to fly

Mr. Tormey has never been more right in his life. I have the
proof. I write a blog, "The Main Bang," where I have posted

My airplane dreams (and goals) just got a lot bigger08 May 2008 04:08 GMT10
Due to time constraints I didn't have time to have a regular Saturday
lesson in the 172 in which I fly.  Sunday morning my instructor called
up and told me his Bonanza needed to be refueled at an FBO with cheap
(4.58!) avgas about 30 miles away and wanted to know if I wanted to
Real Life Flight Simulator...Where?08 May 2008 00:16 GMT4
Quite some time back I asked the question on here where someone could
find a real flight simulator to buy some time in.  For the life of me,
I can't find the link to a school located somewhere in Texas.  This
was for 737 simulation and was pretty reasonable.  Are there any
