I'm headed for the airport!
The valid medical arrived in the mail today. <:-))
Lesson Two29 Jun 2009 18:53 GMT5
Some improvement with level turns today, but not enough better, just can't
seem to get enough elevator in.  I confessed that I might have got too "book
smart" about lift and load factors, and might be scared of getting into a
stall with too much elevator.  So we bagged that part of ...

Lessons Four and Five24 Jun 2009 21:19 GMT3
An object lesson on fitness for flight.  Friday I went out for my fourth
flight lesson.  This did not go as well as I might have hoped.  I had spent
a long, hard day at work and I was exhausted.
We began with more simulated instrument flight, working on the basics of

First Glider Solo22 Jun 2009 06:04 GMT5
Well, I finally made it, first solo!  Flew a Blanik L-23 at Seminole
Lake Gliderport.  Uneventful except for the lack of sleep the night
before :)

Lesson Three18 Jun 2009 23:45 GMT2
After almost three weeks of bad weather and other delays, things finally
lined up for my 3rd flight lesson yesterday.  It's weird how quickly a break
in flying can get your head out of the game, but it ended up being a good
lesson.  The new material included hood time, slow flight ...

Lesson Three. NOT!12 Jun 2009 22:00 GMT6
I'm beginning to develop a very dim view of the weather.
After just two training flights, this unbelievable weather system moved in
and started making thunderstorms EVERYWHERE.  For more than a week now, I
wake up in the morning to entire herds of cumulus in the southwest; when
