With all the heated debate over trival issues that I've seen in this newsgroup, I have to say I'm really disappointed with what I'm seeing as response to a real issue that affects the value of operating a helicopter in the US.

Anybody hear what caused the engine out in that? The video was pretty spectactular. The pilots were interviwed on TV, and from my perspective the PIC did a pretty nice job given the amount of wires he had to navigate around.

Has anyone ever run a AS 350 or 355 without the Main rotor blades fitted? We do it all the time with our 315 but I've never heard of it with a Squirrel / A Star. It would make tail rotor balancing a lot easier for a start - i.e. no pilot
