I had a trial lesson today!29 Nov 2004 18:43 GMT2
I had an hour introductory lesson in an R22 today and loved every minute of
it.  I've flown r/c helis and simulators for years so I was expecting to
have a lot of control familiarity, but I wasn't expecting it to be so
exhausting!  The instructor introduced the controls to me one at ...

Just on the news; a Robinson R22 went down today near the Arlington Airport.

My condolences go out to the families.

I found this great little site. I signed up two weeks ago and got 2 Disney tickets and this week they are sending me 2 Universal Studios tickets. Here's the link http://66.219.102.40/ and by the way I am a real person, this is my real email address. I'm not a spammer and didn't ...
Handheld Nav/Com suggestions?21 Nov 2004 20:45 GMT3
Got a birthday comin' up in a few weeks and the "Whataya want for your
birthday?" bit has started already.  Normally, I tell everyone
"Nothing" since at my age, I consider birthdays just another day and
would be happy with a gigantic filet mignon, an even bigger baked
Different ship, no mo' suckage..21 Nov 2004 05:47 GMT8
Had a rare weekend hop scheduled for Saturday..  Even more rare was
the time.  2pm.  Kinda buggered up my day 'cuz it's almost an hour
drive from the house to the field and I had some serious lounging
planned for the day.  To top it off, I was going to have to haul a.s

Anyone have any experience of Helicopter Adventures, Florida?19 Nov 2004 23:13 GMT5
I'm looking into (financial) alternatives to doing my CPL(H) training in the
UK.  Heli Adventures offer a JAA course in Florida (plus FAA and a work visa
for a year afterwards, which may or may not be useful). Anyone have any
direct experience of them?
Arrrgghhh!!18 Nov 2004 06:57 GMT2
Ok, this is getting annoying.  Last Friday I flew lousy, and the very
next day I did ok.  Yesterday I flew really poorly and today I did
really well..  Now if I could figure out WTF is going on, I'd be a
happy camper.

Redefining the word "Suck"14 Nov 2004 02:16 GMT5
I'm going to put it very bluntly.  I flew like crap today.  Absolutely
horrible.  Couldn't hover, couldn't do approaches, couldn't stick my
altitudes/airspeeds while in the pattern..  I sucked.
It'd been 8 days since I last flew.  Partially because of some
smoke from engine14 Nov 2004 01:56 GMT5
This afternoon I made a flight with my Safari 30 minutes and after
refuelling I started  again the engine and there was a lot of smoke coming
from the exaust. very impressif. A guy from the local air club told me  this
could come from one valve not correctly positionned whenn the ...
Enstrom project on ebay12 Nov 2004 06:42 GMT3
I bet it costs more to put it back together than it will be worth at the
end? Just the labor alone has to be painful let alone 2  main blades, both
tail blades and an engine.
I wonder if projects like this ever get completed?
Military Diesel Bike Engine12 Nov 2004 00:53 GMT8
I was reading this thing:
http://www.drive.cranfield.ac.uk/cfml/dieselmotorbike4.cfm
Could this work for a small helicopter, like the kind BJ Schramm was marketing?
