Helicopter futures29 Dec 2004 00:39 GMT9
My neighbor is training with Silver State helicopters in Sacramento.
They claim there are helos sitting around with no one to fly them and
that pay can be expected in the $100,000 area. Our local DE thinks they
are crooks but I think he just thinks that because they do their

fyi on Joe Souza27 Dec 2004 23:00 GMT2
fyi...Joe Souza, maker of Bandit gyroplanes, is cheating the government
- he funnels money from his business, Precision HiRail Alignment, into
his gyro company which he then claims as REVENUE (illegally) so he can
avoid paying lower taxes..the oldest trick in the book - is the IRS
Power Off Touchdown Autorotation22 Dec 2004 20:54 GMT37
Well it appears this board needs something to stir some activity. So,
let's talk about touchdown autorotations. Just like spins in the
phyxed wing world, there are those who argue for/against touchdown
autos.
Gyro question21 Dec 2004 22:29 GMT4
I have a question:
(and the answer may be pretty basic)
We all know that you can't land a gyrocopter in a crab angle because you
might tip over.  Why, then, don't they use castor type wheels, or some other

Question to pilots who have landed on airports using ILS20 Dec 2004 09:41 GMT3
In IFR flights rotorcraft are sequenced together with airplanes on the
approach path, i.e. they use the same procedures as airplanes. Because
they are much slower than aircraft, they hinder the traffic flow. To
alleviate airport congestion they could intercept the glide path ...
CRASH VIDEO: Two Puma's collide in mid air19 Dec 2004 14:49 GMT22
After having shown about a dozen "lucky crashes" without casualties it's
becoming hard to avoid a fatal crash. Although no casualties are shown in
this video, it may be good to remember that our beloved hobby is not all
about "Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines", but ...
Finally got my X-country in..18 Dec 2004 17:54 GMT2
After getting scrubbed by lack of instructor-itis and bad weather last
Monday night, I finally got my solo cross country in on Wednesday.
I spent Tuesday evening poring over my charts and getting Wx outlooks
from DUAT and finally came up with a route to fly.  X-countries are

Expired helicopter parts.10 Dec 2004 05:19 GMT7
Recently I was watching "Monster Garage".  The challenge on this
episode (37) was for the team to build a very fast car out of a jet
boat.  During the build one of the team members spent six dollars and
some change for an expired helicopter piece.  Since the part had been
