Okay,Army guys,
How was the tail rotor of the AH-1S/F Cobra any different from that on
an UH-1H Huey?  Any difference in chord or diameter?

The Army announced today that they have selected the Bell Helicopter
Model 407 as the winner for the ARH contract beating out Boeing.  The
Army contract is for 380 light armed recon helos to replace the OH-58
Kiowa Warriors.

I have some basic questions about speeds of gyrocopters.
(Please forgive me if my questions are kind of basic.  I'm currently working
on my private pilot for airplanes, with long term goal of getting into

Anyone else besides me here ever hit a wire in a helicopter? I did it
at night while crop dusting in California. Was a steel cable and all it
did was leave "chatter" marks in the paint and tore the end cap. Very
close call and we had to replace the blades (which were just about
