A Russian helicopter crew turned into a real emergency when the chopper
crashed. The accident happened today at an island between Russia and
Japan when an amphibious helicopter landed in the water and tried to
take off again. The chopper tipped over and its rotors hit the water,

The rear transmission support on a UH-1, is this one support mostly for the
twisting action of translational lift ?  Or is it more of a vibration or
shock unit. As it is only held in by (8) -3 bolts it hard to think of any
real support.

while I attend their factory safety course..  Pretty much all stuff
I'd seen/studied before for the 1st two days, but today was
