The 2004 OLC champion for glider without an engine is a US pilot,Doug Levy in a 1-26. Quite an achievement considering the level of competition in OLC. Congratulation Doug.

In addition to AGCSC, there is a winch at Twentynine Palms, and one run by the CAP somewhere around LA. That makes at least three known winches operating in California.

A year ago there was a question about which transponder might be preferable in gliders. Most of the responses debated *whether* a transponder was a good idea, and no one had any comparative experience.

My Winter 57 mm 20,000 ft altimeter reads about 200 ft high when entering the barometric pressure in the Kholsman window. Some altimeters have a screw adjust for this. Anyone know how this is done on the Winter? thanks,
