OLC and airspace30 Jul 2005 03:25 GMT7

The latest issue od Soaring magazine has a well written editorial by
Dennis Wright about our responsibilities of avoiding airspace that
Theft among friends29 Jul 2005 17:51 GMT8
A friend recently told me that his Cobra trailer had been broken into while
parked for several months at an Arizona glider port.
The thief, used a key to open and then relock the trailer (no surprise here,
my Cobra trailer key fits his trailer too - - I'm innocent in this case

refusing access for a couple of days and now I get nothing.
$4.04 per gallon at Hilton Head27 Jul 2005 19:26 GMT9
Just tanked up at Hilton Head SC.  They charged me $3.85 per gallon of
100LL, and then added on a 5% "fuel tax".  Works out to $4.04 per gallon.
Ouch, a new high.
Now that I am back home, I am going to top off with mogas...  $2.10 seems
T.E. Probe Question27 Jul 2005 14:58 GMT2
My ship has a multi probe. When the ship is sitting on its tailwheel
the the probe is level with the ground. And the T.E. part of the probe
is straight up and down. When the ship is flying in a somewhat level

Anyone aware of any used 2 place Blanik, esp. an L-23 available or not
being flown in the US?
The exchange rate has increased the price of a factory new L-23 almost
1/3 this year. Not interested in any rebuilt or refurbished

LAK-12 Fit and Parts25 Jul 2005 06:44 GMT3
Several Questions:
I am looking for feedback size of the 12s cockpit. I hear that pilots
5'10" tp 5"11 fit OK with the seatback at the aft position. For
taller pilots, can the seatback be removed and is it practical or
SeeYou Problem?24 Jul 2005 00:07 GMT10
Occasionally, a flight viewed with SeeYou will have a normal General
Statistics section but will have a a blank Flight Statistics section. These
flights were definitely logged because they can be seen in both 2D and 3D.
Here is a clue...each time this happens the General Statistic ...

Re: 15M EU championship22 Jul 2005 18:32 GMT2
Old as in France and Germany, as in hide-bound. New
as in new entrants to EU, full of vim and vigour.
Retract on tow is normal enough, but not at approx
18 inches off the ground, at least not in my book.
Diamond Altitude via thermal in the US?22 Jul 2005 18:22 GMT12
Just curious if there are any commercial operations in the US where you
can obtain diamond altitude via thermals.  I'm aware of the wave options
at places like Minden.
Many thanks,
