What happened to Rick Walter's / LS-10 on last day of 15m Nats?31 May 2007 21:01 GMT2
He's listed as no flight log "F".....and received NO points .
I'm surprised, as I'd expect they'd wanted the LS-10 to show well....if he
received his points, he'd be higher up there in the standings.
Anyone know about his flight?   Whassupwiddat?

18 Meter and Open Class Nationals 2nd Day # 711 reporting31 May 2007 08:40 GMT2
I am up at 6 am today, hopefully trying to find an open window of
weather for at least the Regional Sports Class to fly in. See, I am
the weatherman, and QV is sending me daily weather reports,  along
with SZ, who is also helping.  Sam, has been weatherman for many
GPS intrference from Zaon PCAS ??31 May 2007 05:12 GMT9
My GPS-NAV has been reliable until a few weeks ago with my Aero 1550
running GN2 when I started using my Zaon PCAS velcro mounted on my
instrument panel cover which has it about 3-4" above the GPS-NAV.  My
GPS-NAV now goes into GPS wait frequently and has problems locking up
Open & 18 Meter USA Nationals day 1 # 711 reporting30 May 2007 14:34 GMT2
We have been having very high winds in the boundary layer the last few
days. 30 to 35 plus kts in our task area, along with cloud cover and
very weak lift. First day, Tuesday, May 29th,  was called on the grid
as no contest, due to winds and weak lift, for both National Classes.

Silver/Gold Duration Question29 May 2007 23:06 GMT11
I've read through the information on SSA and through past posts on RAS
without feeling like I have a clear answer.
My question is pretty simple. Having a valid igc trace file, do I need
an OO for a duration claim ?
Ilec SN10 question29 May 2007 05:11 GMT3
I've noticed on my SN10 that the final glide height
needed is excessive. I'm comparing it to GNII driven
by a 302A. The GN setup is faultless and the SN10 can
demand twice the height needed as calc by GNII.

The Arizona Soaring Assocation is having this weekend's contest series
at Willcox and experienced some stellar soaring conditions on

For five years we have been lectured that George Bush ruined the trans-
Atlantic relationship. But now we see pro-American governments in both
France and Germany, and a radical change in attitudes from Denmark to
Holland to Italy. The truth is that the Europeans neither hated nor

Well, gas is $3.50/Gal in many parts of the US and who is to say it won't be
$4/gal next summer.  This is starting to hurt - and getting me to think of a
more economical vehicle.
Many of us drive larger vehicles than we might otherwise choose simply to
