Transmission feedback on C206 Towplane30 Jun 2008 15:30 GMT3
Got a Cessna 206 that emits a steady tone during transmission only.
The pitch increases with rpm to a point where ATC refuses service. No
tone is emitted on battery power only (Alt. off). No problem
yesterday, problem today. Noise remains with audio panel on/off, using
Parowan Region 930 Jun 2008 15:08 GMT13
Day 1 preliminary scores are posted at the SSA web site.
In Sports class, KS top gunned the day at 92mph (raw speed) but TF
(Nick Kennedy) won the day in his Twin Astir, however we're still
trying to find a GPS fix on TF's actual handicap. Stay tuned.
Cobra Trailer Top Adjustment Advice Needed30 Jun 2008 13:07 GMT3
Can anyone recommend a simple, effective method for removing outward
horizontal bulges in the top rail of Cobra trailers?
I have a 1983 Cobra with an aluminum top, which has its lift struts on
the outside. Over the years an outward horizontal bulge has developed

Region 9 Parowan 200830 Jun 2008 01:06 GMT2
Another fantastic Parowan meet is complete.  Thanks to all those who
brought their energies to bear to make it all run so smoothly. It was
an exceptional field of pilots this year and the task committee, led
by Charlie Lite, made near-perfect calls on all seven days allowing 55
Getting back to gliding29 Jun 2008 21:41 GMT2
I haven't flown since 1993, and am now a diabetic who gained a large amount
of weight.  I have finally gotten off my lazy butt and decided to drop the
weight and get back in a sailplane.  I hope to be back in shape by this
winter sometime.  What I need to know is if the medical ...

How do these aircraft compare as far as ease of learning to fly it?
Any unusual traits that a new pilot should be wary of?

Water Landings29 Jun 2008 14:47 GMT14
In the July, 2008 edition of "Gliding International", edited by John
Roake, there's this word on water landings:
"Walter Schneider and Wolf Lemke of LS fame carried out water landing
test and ditched an LS1 prior to the World Championships in Finland.
Christopher Jury, Margaret Birsner, Fred W. Harris, Milton O.     Thompson?29 Jun 2008 02:01 GMT1
With all the talk about the movie, "The Boy That Flew With Condors",
does anyone have details on the people
involved in the video; Christopher Jury, Margaret Birsner, Fred W.
Harris and/or Milton O. Thompson?
Hollister to the Mexican border28 Jun 2008 21:08 GMT5
On Saturday 6/21, Eric Rupp flew his DG300 from Hollister (Bay Area,
California) to the Mexican border near Mexicali, landing at Calexico,
over 400 miles from Hollister. This was a new record and an epic
flight which several of us were trying to achieve for many years.
Interest in a glider theme desktop+calendar?28 Jun 2008 10:55 GMT3
There have been a couple of these over the years, so was wondering what the interest was for a monthly background image
of a soaring related topic with a calendar overlay?
If I get enough responses I will look at making a free monthly calendar available - opinions and suggestions ...
Who won the Honeysuckle Cottage task?28 Jun 2008 02:06 GMT2
An email message was sent to (apparently) all registered competitors
for the upcoming 15m/Open nats at Uvalde, advertising the availability
of a cottage for rent near the airfield.
I called & emailed back within a few minutes, but could not get

Heard on 123.327 Jun 2008 01:47 GMT2
Saturday, while struggling mightily to get around rain showers and get
back to Sugarbush (completely futile) for the last day at Region 1,
there were many land out calls scattered around central VT.  Then I
heard something I've never heard before on the radio: some pilot keyed
