As reported in the Austin American-Statesman, Gary Osaba flew a 615
mile (~989.7 km) flight on July 24, 2008 from Zapata, Texas to near
Lorenzo, Texas. It was reported as a "freestyle distance" flight,
direct distance is about 490 statute miles, so perhaps a free distance

Certificated PP taking my first glider ride tomorrow. Not ready to go over to

As a member ham and member of the local Search and Rescue organization, we
have been interested in tracking fellow searchers.  The technology has been
available for some time, but was not straightforward.
That may be changing, and the change may be very useful for soaring pilots

Anyone knows where I can get the famous Schleicher stickers, in this
case, for a ASW-19, that you find on the fuselage under the canopy?

A friend is considering purchasing a SZD-36 Cobra 15 glider. Comments

I just received a telephone call from a reliable source that Dick
Johnson has crashed at the combined World Class / 1-26 Nationals at
Midlothian, Texas (south of Dallas).  He was flying as sniffer.

I had a pretty good flight last Saturday. Was on pace to fly another
120-150 miles, but overflew the conditions and ran into the stagnant
remains of an old front that had been infecting the pahandle region
