Beginner, Parachutes?30 Nov 2008 16:38 GMT50
Dumb beginner question follows:
I am just starting out flying gliders....   Here in the USA it seems
nobody wears a parachute unless they are contest flying or doing
aerobatics.  However, I generally do like knowing that I have a backup
Question on FAA knowledge test endorsements.30 Nov 2008 13:15 GMT22
Simple question (for everyone but me!):
Is the CFI endorsement to take a private pilot test for a specific category
(e.g. airplane, rotorcraft, glider) or a category and class (e.g. airplane,
single engine land) or some other classsification (e.g. fixed-wing), or not

Saving See You Tasks and Flights28 Nov 2008 18:12 GMT3
I have a question regarding the use of the See You software.  I have
several tasks associated with a single contest  on my see you
software.  Is there a way to save all of these tasks (including the
turn point zone data) to a permanet file for future reference?
Ventus 2cx brake28 Nov 2008 16:21 GMT38
Hi Pilots,
I have a V2cxT that has the standard S-H disc brake that no longer
works very well.  I have been through the obvious fixes; pads, new
fluid, bleed, etc. and haven't been able to bring it back up to
Canadian Pilot wants U.S. Certificate27 Nov 2008 16:42 GMT17
Hopefully, you can help me get this figured out.  I'm going on a trip
to Florida next summer, and I'd like to fly a glider while I'm there
(I kept seeing gorgeous Cu's from Mickey-Mouse-Land).  I figured I
would get checked out in a Grob 103 and then go have some fun in a
Crazy Glider Videos26 Nov 2008 22:25 GMT12
Here are some YouTube videos all entitled "Crazy Glider" (or
variations).
Now, why can't we have an SSA party like THIS?

Lacquer25 Nov 2008 17:00 GMT6
Does anyone have a source for dark gray lacquer for painting contest
numbers on a sailplane?  Preferably in the US.  I know it is old
fashioned, but that is what I want to do.
Thanks in advance,
SPOT Versus PLB - The Presentation25 Nov 2008 13:29 GMT1
All,
During the summer I wrote a RAS posting comparing the SPOT to the ACR
MicroFix PLB.  See http://tinyurl.com/plbversusspot for details.  The
posting drew some good comments.
Glider Video Facing Backwards25 Nov 2008 02:59 GMT5
Our club (http://skysoaring.com) owns a ex-military L-19/O-1 "Bird
Dog".  Nice and powerful two seat-er.
It has one other interesting attribute.  Due to it being an
observation plane, the rear stick can be removed and the rear seat
Flush Latches25 Nov 2008 02:49 GMT13
I am trying to figure out who the manufacturer of the particular flush

nothing.

Kestrel 17 Polar24 Nov 2008 17:17 GMT3
I am curious as to why the Kestrel polar is not included in any of the
flight recorders/flight computers.  I have one loaded into my SN-10 from
the polar data in the manual so it's not a burning issue, but I'm
feeling a bit left out!

Anyone know where I can find this program to download?  I had to
replace my old laptop and the copied program won't fly.  Thanks!
