I've seen some excellent lists on this forum for the pilot, glider,
and landout/emergency kit. I'm wondering if anyone has developed a
list for the tools, parts & materials to always have in the tow
vehicle. I need to assemble a single toolbox that I can transfer

Sailplanes have of necessity a polar with min sink at speeds where
circles can be small enough to center thermals, and L/Dmax only a few
knots higher. Ballast is added to raise the L/D max perhaps 10Kts
higher.

Nationals can now declare a “No ballast” day without all pilots
agreeing.
A motor glider or a heavy glider will have a considerable advantage
especially on a good day if this rule is not modified.

No updated calendar for 2009 and it's almost the end of January. I

I'm leaving this Friday to pick up a glider that I purchased 1100
miles away.  The trailer looks brand new, but is about 12 years old,
as are its tires.  The glider and trailer weigh in the vicinity of 950
