XCSkies CAPE07 Jul 2009 06:26 GMT4
Question for any weather guru's out there:
I have had a wonderful season so far this year.  I've had many 4-5

Okay guys, here's your new thread.  Please...
Del asks "how well will pilots react if they unexpectedly get into a
spin or a spiral dive? Normally you gird your loins up first before
doing a deliberate spin!"
Volkslogger Issue07 Jul 2009 01:45 GMT2
I just noted that the times in the igc file from my Volkslogger are several
hours differant from the actual times.  Is there someplace to set the UTC
offset that I haven't found?  I am looking at the file with SeeYou.  I
don't see this issue when looking at the igc file generated by ...

The gliderport is placed about 300 yds too far NW. This puts the whole thing
Battery life when running a transponder06 Jul 2009 02:36 GMT16
Can anybody tell me what battery life you get in practice, when
running a transponder from a dedicated lead-acid battery, and what
size battery that is? And what model of transponder is it?
Has anybody measured the actual current drawn during operation, if so

RF vario interference05 Jul 2009 19:55 GMT2
I have a little problem that has been discussed here before. Every
time I press my push to talk my vario freaks out. I have a Dittel FSG
2T radio and an LX 1600 vario. We typically fly on 123.5 or 123.3. any
Ideas on how to get rid of the interference?

With Paul Remde's assistance I just fixed an issue with a "problem" I
had with my HP IPAQ 2215 (2210).  You might want to know about this.
My problem was that the unit would not power on when using battery
power.  On AC (or cradle) it was OK.  I thought it was a battery

I have an old Soaring Aids variometer that I am installing in the Cherokee.
It has ports on the back for static/TE and capacity flasks.  They are not

Thanks!
