| (USA) Issues with latest (0913) FAA NFD airspace edition | 31 Dec 2009 13:43 GMT | 1 |
The 0912 cycle was pretty quiet because the FAA was too busy mucking up the 0913 edition. A couple of issues users should be aware of: (1) The "Restrictive Airspace Name" field in the subject release is missing the first character for most (if not all) airspace records.

| Simple string used as artificial horizon? | 31 Dec 2009 07:59 GMT | 44 |
I had a very interesting conversation yesterday with a very experienced pilot (older) who has spent a lot of time in some amazing aircraft starting with the P51 Mustang and going up to jets including the SR-71 blackbird and as we were looking over my glider we started

| Seaplane motor-glider? | 31 Dec 2009 03:07 GMT | 7 |
Anyone ever hear of a seaplane/amphibious motor-glider? I wonder if there is one out there that I have never heard about. If not, what do you all think about the possibility of creating one? Would it be possible to have all of these qualifications in one aircraft?

| Flight tests | 30 Dec 2009 19:31 GMT | 1 |
Just got the new SOARING, and I see that there is a flight test of the 304S by the Texas Soaring Association that measures the L/D at 51. Good job, TSA. I hope that TSA is able to continue with these tests -- perhaps the V2cx, ASG-29, or JS-1 next?

| AVI8TOR AND SEE YOU | 28 Dec 2009 16:02 GMT | 3 |
I'm a fairly new pilot about to start xc. Has anyone tried the avi8tor loaded with see you mobile. Is this any better or worse then the various PDA/logger setups I've seen in other guys gliders. I fly club ships so need a setup that can easily be transferred between gliders.

| EASA Vs FAA | 26 Dec 2009 14:38 GMT | 5 |
As much as we like to complain about our FAA, we are fortunate to be in the USA and not going through the insanity of soaring in Europe. To quote a German friend, "Bureaucrazies are Lifetaking". The EASA does not seem to have interest in promoting aviation.
