Keys for older Cobra trailers30 May 2010 22:01 GMT6
Hi, All,
I've got an issue with my older (1990) Cobra trailer.  It has the
older style rectangular
latches that you have to press in to lock, and then use the key to
Airspace grab29 May 2010 02:26 GMT6
I announced the following FAA rule in my popular newsletter (please
see www.eglider.org)
This is just the first of new airspace rules ending the airspace
freedom we have enjoyed up to now, and may make glider flying near the
Losing time in Cloud-Streets?28 May 2010 20:32 GMT29
All -
I've been flying with the assumption that flying slow in cloud-streets
is always a good idea.  But in looking at some of my OLC flights I
wonder if my logic is faulty and I'm hurting my speed.  Anyone with
FS Sage vario, Security chute27 May 2010 23:50 GMT8
Spring cleaning!  I have a newly rebuilt 80 mm Sage SV vario.  I'd
like to trade it for a 57 mm Sage or sell for $600 OBO.  Also have a
1979 Security 250 chute.  Always well cared for, just passed
inspection and has a fresh repack, $500 OBO.
SUA airspace format27 May 2010 21:06 GMT9
Can anybody point me at a definition of the SUA airspace file format,
please?
LK8000 uses it, but so far I haven't been able to find the UK airspace in
SUA format, so its looking more and more as if I'll have to convert a TNP
ALKO plastic bits27 May 2010 18:31 GMT2
Most of the plastic parts on my club's European trailer are made by
ALKO.  We need fenders, chocks, chock holders, etc.  Anyone know of a
source in USA?
Belly Landing - Involve the insurance company?27 May 2010 15:57 GMT14
All -
Would love opinions from anyone who's been through an insurance-
related claim on a glider...  My DG-300's gear collapsed on landing
Saturday.  The down-lock tab squished into the rubber "donut" spacer,
HD Video from Region 9 Tucson contest May 14-15, 201026 May 2010 17:07 GMT11
I flew down to El Tiro with my friend Warren to each take a day flying
with Garret in his Stemme during the Region 9 contest and had fun
taking a few hours worth of video footage both on the ground and in
the air.  It was hard to edit it down to under 10 minutes!  Everyone
Barographs?25 May 2010 23:07 GMT26
Anyone have a Barograph or two sitting on a shelf collecting dust?  I
would like to put one or two of these relics back into service
generating FAI Badges.  Replogle preferred as that is what I have
experience with, however I'll consider any other model. Thanks!
ALKO running gear25 May 2010 22:19 GMT5
Mechanical brakes in USA would be great but I'm pretty sure it's
impossible to buy them here.
Seems like an obvious business opportunity for someone.

TYVEK for Glider Cover25 May 2010 18:39 GMT5
I am considering to replace the top surface of our glider cover with
TYVEK-RV. I am thinking to leave the white side out. Our current
covers really have discolored to brown and the skins have shrunk some.
Anyone have some TYVEK-experience when used as glider covers. I am
Common error in center of gravity calculation25 May 2010 15:41 GMT3
I thought I should highlight an error that is being made in
calculating CG that appears to be widespread, and that can lead to a
miscalculation in center of gravity by up to 10% (or possibly more) of
the allowable CG range.
TINSFOS question24 May 2010 22:52 GMT9
am curious about 16.5m wing extensions, are ailerons usually
incorporated into these, or if the existing aileron/flaperon ran full
span to begin with, would the roll rate suffer if the extension did
not include the control surface?
question for JJ24 May 2010 18:23 GMT8
I'm looking at my shiny black carbon wings and other parts and getting
ready to start sanding to prep for spraying on primer.
Question: what grade of sand paper  do I use to break the glaze and
give tooth without removing precious material..................
Oudie with a LX 500024 May 2010 10:48 GMT2
I have a question about hooking up the Oudie to my LX 5000.
When I was using my IPAQ  the serial port from my IPAQ is
a female plug. On the Oudie, it is a male serial plug. Is there
another option about hooking this up with a LX 5000?
