Just been watching a smallish prop aircraft circling over east side of
City of London for last 45 mins without navigation lights. It's a
Friday night around 11:30pm as I write.
Aircraft is flying at perhaps 10,000 ft in ovals over Aldgate / Tower

After a hectic summer of trogging around in an A320 I managed to grab a few
minutes of bliss today. The temp was low, the sky big and blue and the wind
about 060/5.  I grabbed a PA28, two of my kids jumped in with me, and I
simply flew for half an hour.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know which airfield the BBC's Top
Gear program use for their filming?
It must be a fairly big one as I noticed a 747 parked in the background.

I am thinking of learning to fly and am looking around the local
schools.  The most convinient for me is brooklands at Sywell Aerodrome
as I drive past it every day.  The other alternative is Sibson near

Keep hearing a lot of aircraft complaining about interference from Heathrow
on their approach into Newcastle (118.5 MHz). Anyone around the Heathrow
area heard of interference the other way round, i.e. interference at
Heathrow, from traffic going into Newcastle ?

Just getting interested in aviation and have noticed the acronym PPR
cropping up on flight charts and in books, magazines etc. What does it
mean? Its in relation to getting permission to land at an airfield
