Ontario, CA -- By choice rather than bad weather or negative action
taken by the FAA or TSA, over one thousand glider pilots will be
grounded in Ontario on February 10 – 12, 2005. They will be attending

Ultralights for helping in emergency22 Jan 2005 03:58 GMT6

with reference to tsunami disaster in south-eastern Asia, does anybody think
it would be possible to use ultralights for carrying life-saving drugs in
Pressurized Fuel Cans21 Jan 2005 22:21 GMT4
When I was a kid (I'm 58 now) we had 5 gallon cans for water. The cans
had a schrader valve on them (just like a bicycle tire) which you used
to pressurize the can. Voila, turn on the faucet and water would come
out.

I'll be in Jacksonville Florida for a few days. I'm looking to fly
ultralights. I'm a fixed wing pilot now but have never flown an
ultralight. Can anybody suggest any place for instruction?

Refueling without spilling: ideas needed14 Jan 2005 13:02 GMT5
Howdy,
I'm using a stepladder, funnel, and 5 gallon gas cans to fill my plane.  I
can't tell how close to the top the fuel level is as I fill, so I'm constantly
overflowing the dang tank.  Has anyone got a clean, easy, and cheap solution
It seems like the off season would be for . . . .13 Jan 2005 16:28 GMT13
Writin about flying ones ultra light.
It just seems like the board should get busier when one can't be out flying but
it drops off a bunch during the off season.  For us ultrlight pilot wantabes we
lose out just like trying to find a real UL BFI in the area to take lessons.

In any case I wish to know how he made out. He flew out of Stanley ...

Does anyone have an old owners manual from a Rotax 447 they would be willing
to give up, or sell? I'm just getting started in this hobby and I would
appreciate it. Thanks.
What happened to the "Wing-in-groud-effect" craft?08 Jan 2005 16:17 GMT7
I recall a few years ago several companies that were building
prototypes of ultralight sea-planes that flew in ground effect over
the water.  They used fiberglass hulls and tube and fabric control
surfaces.
Warp Drive vs. Hot Prop04 Jan 2005 18:10 GMT1
FYI.
